Potential College Credit Opportunity

Students who successfully pass the NHA Certified Billing & Coding Specialist (CBCS) certification examination may be eligible for an American Council on Education college credit recommendation.

The CBCS certification examination has received an ACE recommendation of:

  • Three semester credit hours

  • Lower-division college-level credit recommendation

  • Potential consideration toward continuing education

  • Potential consideration toward career development

  • Potential consideration toward completion of a related educational program

Students should be aware that:

  • Students must successfully pass the applicable NHA certification examination

  • Documentation may need to be submitted to the college or university for evaluation

  • Each institution establishes its own prior-learning and transfer-credit policies

  • Acceptance and application of ACE-recommended credit are determined by the receiving institution

  • Recommended credit may not transfer to every college or university

  • College credit is not guaranteed
